What is Ultra Violet (UV) light?
When ultraviolet (UV) light interacts with microorganisms, it penetrates their DNA, dismantling the adenine and thymine bonds. This process effectively neutralizes bacteria, viruses, spores, and molds by halting their ability to multiply and cause infections.

There are two leading UVC lamp technologies employed in both industrial and municipal applications:
1, Amalgam lamps provide a monochromatic (single wavelength) output at 254nm, converting over 30% of electricity into UVC. These lamps excel in efficiency but feature a low energy density, making them relatively low power (100 to 800 watts) but longer in size. They are ideal when efficiency is paramount, although larger multi-lamp systems can become
bulky and challenging to maintain.

2,Medium Pressure lamps deliver a polychromatic output spanning a broad spectrum. This characteristic is advantageous for aligning with the sensitivity of specific target organisms. Despite their lower energy efficiency (~15%), they boast high power (1kW to 24kW) and compact size, reducing the number of lamps needed in smaller reactors.
